what does the time commitment look like? And I am an IRC newb..besides that I would be interested.

Blitz turns take about 10-20 minutes, 5-10 in early game, so even in the best case you better bring a couple of hours with you to play.

yeah, 4 hours is probably a minimum unless you plan on getting wiped out early.

as for IRC, the easiest is probably to use one of the many web clients. try google "irc web client" or some such.

for more serious IRC use, download and use mIRC. you should be able to find simple mIRC tutorials online. just remember you want to point it at any gamesurge server. once there, you can type:

/join #dominions

to get into the channel we'll all be in.
