Installing SE IV on New Machine. What a Nightmare

After doing a Windows XP reinstall I'm trying to download planet packs and other image mod packs from Spaceempires.net. Most of the files show "page not found" when I try to download them.

Is Spaceempires.net still operating?

Where else can image mod packs be obtained?

I thought I had copied all that stuff to CD, but I can't find it.

This game is so incredibly addictive. Last night after re-loading stock SEIV I loaded the TDM mod and began a test game as the Rage. In just a few turns I was hooked. I had forgotten just how beautiful those Rage ships are.
