No preferences right now as to settings.

To other newbies: make sure you experiment in single player using Indy strength 7. It's a little different than the default

some of us always plays with indy7 in SP or hotseat MP

Well there are lots and lots of other choices (see the map list in the mods and maps subforum, and dom3maps.wikidot.com ), I just thought I would mention a couple that came to mind.
