Yes.
@Jazzepi Giant lawyers say : Biding was stated to be "in gold" not in chads or copper pieces.
More seriously, a last minute +1 when WL which seemed motivated and made several serious offers was probably not online was rather evil. I would have accepted it only to respect the word of my rules, when I forgot to give a minimum increment. But with the .5 to give me an excuse to ignore the offer, I prefer to do so...

That's true. I was indeed offline. I've considered "setting" an auto agent that will increment the bid for me until a limit of 500g. But then I was sure someone would just abuse it and pull the bid up anyway so I haven't. In any case I think its a good trade, 25g per gem is what you get as an alchemist for fire gems.
