Re: Why Domed colonies on green dots
We should start refering people to Malfadors Q&A section. A lot of these "Can't colonize" question can be answered simply by reading the Malfador Q&A section. Malfador Q&A

You can also do that with an AI if you spot one with population in it. (This assumes you have long range scanners, or you are a good guesser. ) Just offer to trade something for the transport you want. The AI doesn't seem to assign any value to colonists in a transport.

This might have been a good time to start a new topic, but it's interesting to see this thread resurected.
Anyway, there is no Facility that will correct Irradiation (as in the special planet type from FQM), however you may be able to get a new and different planet type by using Stellar Manipulation components on ships in the same sector as this planet to destory it and recreate it.
If I recall correctly, Irradiated and SmallMachineWorld planets cannot be created by Stellar Manipulation.

You can Terraform Irradiated Planets as well. It will change the atmosphere to breathable. The thing is on Irradiated planets domed planets have more facility space than undomed. Not the kind of Terrafrorming you're after
