There have been lots of stories on Slashdot over the years about this apparent correlation. Usually the FPS genre is cited in preference to other sorts of games. The usual 'correlation is not causation' arguments are brought up every time, of course. But then there are also frequent stories about scare-mongering lawyers trying to blame video games for causing violence, so these are the natural counter-weight.

It's people who cause violence. It's the video games (and TV) that give them the ideas!!! Everyone is responsible for their own actions, UNTIL you talk to lawyers...
