Actually I have known about this for a very long long time. Just read my other STARs threads. What I am saying is now even I am loosing hope.

Yeah, their latest 'news' post on their site is appealing for console publishers to consider their game. I guess they think they can get MS to put it on the X-Box? If they aren't willing to take the small profits from self-publishing then I guess Stars! SNG is never gonna see the light of day. Too bad. What we were shown looked pretty cool.

Plus Stars! during it's debut was one kickass 4X game, highly worthy of the genre. It happened to be the first one I played back in '95. Definately holds up to the expectations and then some for its time. Too bad the great sequel doesn't look like it's in great shape, we've been hyping about it since '98.

Stars was out long before 95. Perhaps they should go back to there roots... take the hit and release the game on the internet. Instead of trying to get in an EB near you. Later if there sucessful then the can make a STARS! Version in a box. Or something. I would hate to see that game disappear. I miss flinging packets across the dark expanses of space

Stars! is one great game. i've played the "original" and liked it very much. it was shareware and i didnt have the ability to buy it, neither was i willing to search for a "crack". Though if the sequel would be ever out i just *might* buy it. So bad its in troubles.

Yeah. I check their site about once a month. I think they have been screwed for money. Getting development cash is always incredibly hard, the past year or so, darn near impossible.

Really, hope they find an angel somewhere. The quality of their work is excellent.
