Re: music for MP3 player
I'd have to second the last.fm recommendation. It's way better for music discovery than stuffy spectral comparison sites like Pandora. Like Amazon, they've also got a bunch of random free music to download. In either case, it's mostly going to be from fairly obscure or brand new artists, though.

Re: music for MP3 player
Thanks Fyron. I'm on the last.fm bandwagon now. Great site. I've discovered a Finnish band called Battlelore who base most of their songs on Tolkien. But through their links, I've found out that there are a lot of these bands out there basing their songs on Tolkien and other fantasy themes. Now where was this music back when I was playing Dungeons & Dragons?

Re: music for MP3 player
maybe they were, but most of these bands didn't even get formed until late 90's, if you take the time to read their bios. My playing days were the mid-80's to the early 90's.

Re: music for MP3 player
My collection has definitely expanded once a friend told me about a program that will let you download music and video off of YouTube. It's called DVDvideosoft. Just go to dvdvideosoft.com and download the program. This will convert music to mp3 format, and you'll be able to download those music videos you love so much. Just right click on the link, copy shortcut, then click on the conversion program. Hit paste, then download. Wait a couple of minutes, and you're done. Sometimes I've found a song or video the program won't let me download, but that's very rare. So give it a try and let me know how you like it.
