Thinking about playing player-vs-player?

I would estimate half of the blitzes started on IRC are played on Gandalfs server. There's a definite preference to finding someone willing and able to host (participating or not!) because then we can tweak settings (in particular, easy research is preferred to standard for blitzes, since otherwise the typical small maps used in a blitz favor bless rushes). But tis better to play with standard research than not play at all, so...

Hmmmm.....
The settings on the games of my server are, of course, my own flawed thinking on the subject. Im not sure Ive ever had a quorum of experts opinion on the matter as IRC would allow.

I should start a new thread on that.

Why not just go to the irc channel? That's the logical place to consult people, you know, from the irc channel.
