Yeah, when sieging I'll generally pull troops off commanders who can do anything else useful. Preaching is most common, but reanimating works too. I just wasn't sure about blood hunting.
The unrest is just a side benefit. Refilling your slave stocks is more important.

Some nations can order their priest to reanimate the dead. Like MA Ermor.

And undead priests can always reanimate undead. Some nations get different kinds of undead. (LA Ctis, MA, and LA Ermor, Monkey nations).

There is more information in your manual.

I don't think I've come across this playing yet. I'm currently EA C'tis, I have undead magic and priests, I'm not sure that my priests are undead though...?

Well, there is a nice table about how much each level of priest summons. Sadly I don't have the page number here. (Manual in another room, to lazy to walk over to it an pick it up).

One thing that the manual is wrong about is that each priest level reanimates only 8 soulless, not 10.
