No, I've never heard of it. I'll look it up and update the neo-standard site accordingly.

As for the display pages: They don't all have to be on the same site. A geocities account or something similar would be enough for one or two shipsets. If each author did that, and then the race list linked to them all... I'm sure it wouldn't be hard for some codehead to modify the race viewer to accept gifs or jpegs, then it would be really really easy to set up such a site.

Also, there are plenty of shipyards willing to host sets. I'm aware that many authors seem to have abandoned their sets, so we're unlikely to achieve 100%, but we could probably make the whole shipset finding/viewing/downloading process much easier.

Which is why you edit it to use a different file format. Replace all .bmp with .png, .jpg, whatever.

Bandwidth and server space for a few ship sets is minimal. But for 100s of ship sets, it adds up.

Andres, are you alright with the updates of the race dir ? I'm about to finish the pirates shipset, so I'll have plenty of time and lots of ideas to improve it (annotations on races, mods compliance, demo picture...).

I said you could change it to work with jpgs. Just edit the file, and replace ".bmp" with ".jpg". However, png is a far better file format. There is no loss of color information as in jpg, and the file size is only a bit larger than jpg.

Andres, that's strange : most races seems to appear twice in your list... Is it a maintenance error ?
