a platoon operating as multiples in a COIN situation may have 1 in base (or doing leg patrol) and one out on mobile ops.

A multiple is essentially a demi-platoon as I understand it.

4 of these could handle a multiple (half the sections, half of PL HQ, + attached specialists - interps, EOD, whatever and who likely bring their own wagon if mobile).
