Re: Patch 2 Mount feature not implemented?
Ack! Never mind. I see what you mean now. The "any" type is actually doing what the "none" type should do. It will allow the mount for any non weapon, instead of any weapon like it should.
This is a bug. This came up in beta testing and I was pretty sure he fixed it. It looks like maybe it creeped back in at the Last moment or something. We'll have to let him know so he can fix it in the next patch.

Re: Patch 2 Mount feature not implemented?
What I was trying to do was make a Compact Mount with 25% reduction in size, 25% increase in cost and everything else the same. I tried using the Any Weapon Type so I would not have to make 3 different entries, DF,S,PD. After I had it setup and saved I started the game and it generated an error saying it could not load the CompEnhanc.txt file. I quit the game and went back into note pad and changed the Weapon Type to Direct Fire saved and started the game again and no problem. My conclusion is that the Any Weapon Type is not working right.

Re: Patch 2 Mount feature not implemented?
Thanx Geo.
I was wondering if I was doing something wrong.

Re: Patch 2 Mount feature not implemented?
Nope, you aren't. I went back over the beta forums and I think I see what happened. Prior to 1.72 there was no "Any" option for mounts. When he added it inadvertantly the "Any" and "None" types both allowed any component, weapon or not to be used. We pointed that out to him and he fixed the "none" type, but apparently the "any" type is still identical to it, and therefore incorrect. It's possible we never tested the "any" afterwards, seeing the "none" was fixed and assumed the "any" was as well.
It would be a bit of an hassle, but you can make a mount do what you want. You would have to use the new component family feature for mounts and list all the waepon families.

Re: Patch 2 Mount feature not implemented?
take a look at my mount mod I posted. It sounds to me like you may be attempting something similar to what I did.. it may give you ideas.

Re: Patch 2 Mount feature not implemented?
Yeah, just noticed that myself. Ahwell, it's not that big of a deal, since most of my mounts are different between weapon types anyway, except for some drone and troop mods.
