				 Not Connected
I am looking for AI's that are good in unconnected situations. Is there such a thing? Or are they all about the same?
I would prefer to work with the stock or TDM races, but any will do.

"Not all warp points connected" tends to make a more interesting map, with more chokepoints and bottlenecks.Quote:

Yes, what I'm looking for is AI's that will research Stellar Manipulation early and get out of their home system fairly quickly, much as a human would. If such an AI exists, I would like to use it.

				 Re: Not Connected
I have tried unconnected/young. Game play is slow, but interesting. Prefer connected.
As to the quote. If you are dead, how can you
reckon?

				 Re: Not Connected
Eventually, the AI's will research the tech needed if they see they're cut off.
AI's that I've seen use stellar manipulation often and early are TDM Modpak races -- Pyrochette, Space Vikings, and the Drak'ol (sp?)

I've had the Vorlon hit me early with warp point openers, so you could give them a try.

A fool and his gold are soon parted, glitter or not!
And all that glitters is not gold. Think Iron-Pyrite! Shall we? Let's!

				 Re: Not Connected
The Vikings will research stellar manip if unconnected.
Unconnected games are brilliant. I am currently at turn 400 of a solo Proportions game where I started with only one system attached to my home system. I had only 4 planets to colonise and before I had to research stellar manipulation.

Didn't make first contact until about turn 270...

				 Re: Not Connected
Thanks for the help guys! I think I've found the ones I want.
Actually, I finally got smart and looked in the _AI_research.txt entries and found some other good ones too.
