Re: Number of active players
ASL is a different type of game turns take longer because it’s very complex by comparison what stops most people playing is space even playing on VASL you need to set it up somewhere. Also you need to play regularly to remember the rules so it’s not a game you can just play now & again. I could play it pretty quick once all the counters were laid out it’s the decisions that take the time.

In many ways this game is no different. Remembering every keyboard short-cut you might need is difficult if you are not playing regularly. Even I have to look one up now and again.......

Re: Number of active players
Haven't been around in quite a while but I'm glad to see this community still active and both games being played. If I can locate and get my CD copies installed and upgraded on my new laptop, I'm going to start trying to play them regularly again. Heck, who knows, if I can get caught up on all the changes I might even take a stab at designing campaigns again.

Re: Number of active players
Had a bout 80 board games gave them all to a guy that said he has access to a gaming club that would use them hadn't opened one in years and they were rotting in my garage. Figured a good home for them would be nice.

That was one of the problems if you had squad leader ready to go with counter trays etc so could play quickly even stored it took up at least that much space. I had a tray for every single unit not just game counters so could set up quickly.

Re: Number of active players
There were two others I owned and played a few times that IDK if they are still tucked away someplace or if they were tossed out and that was Avalon Hills 1914 and Anzio. I suspect they did not survive because they were not bookcase games and finding a place to store them was a PITA. Once I got a computer these became relics and started gathering dust. Before I discovered Steel Panthers then embarked on this 2-decade journey the ones I played to death were the V for Victory series developed by Atomic Games in 1991 and distributed by Three-Sixty Pacific. Hard to believe that was nearly 30 years ago........

Re: Number of active players
Yeah, my first PC game was "War in Russia" by Grigsby on an Atari 800, loaded via a cassette tape, took the better part of half an hour as I recall.
