I went looking for a new photo to use for the TOP as the one used has been used for the entire series.....imagine my surprise when the only photos I found for a VAB TOP were 4x4's not 6x6.....

and when I google Le véhicule de l'avant blindé (VAB) I see ( mostly ) 4x4 but occasionally 6x6

 apparently, there is a 4x4 version and a 6x6 version ......

 the "joy" is neverending

				 Re: French OOB
Then let me from my French site give you the gift of continuing "joy"...https://www.armyrecognition.com/fren..._pictures.html
I'm not seeing any difference in the area of crew and dismounts. I wasn't aware of the fact that they're both fully amphibious , that surprised me given how long they've been in service. It appears as noted that the only distinct difference btwn the 4x4 and 6x6 is in the following unit from ref 1/ref 2 provides very good data as well plus the handy silhouettes of the type...
"VAB TOP : 4x4 APC version fitted with a Kongsberg Protector M151 RWS with 12.7mm machine gun and ceramic add on armour"
https://www.armyrecognition.com/fren..._pictures.html http://www.tanks-encyclopedia.com/co...France/VAB.php

Ref 1 also provides weapons data the following specific ammo load out as well...
VCAC Mephisto : Anti-tank vehicle, carries the Euromissile Mephisto system with four ready-to-fire HOT anti-tank missiles and eight more in reserve
VTM 120 : Mortar towing vehicle, can carry 70 bombs for the Thomson-Brandt 120mm mortar

Pat

SP Flak vehicle "VAB VCI T-20" in French OOB 6 (unit 453) has crew of 10 men. This seems to be misprint. |

				 Re: French OOB
 Now changed to crew=4
If I can find a source that gives actual crew for that vehicle I will adjust again but so far I have found nothing specific for the vehicle but the normal vehicle crew is 2 and a 20mm AA gun is three so 4-5 seems reasonable and I went with 4
