Re: Epic Battles(PBEM) - Game on!
Valerius is too humble - that was quite a stinging blow and a reminder to always check what's inside the fort before you storm. Doh - the one fort I didn't check! It seems Aby has all the royalty of hell, hordes of vamps, Father Illearth, etc hanging out in this one spot. Anyway, hats off to V. The Pangean general in command has been demoted to latrine cleanup for our Minotaur batallion.

Congrats to Valerius and his wedge of Demon Knights for their valiant (and successful) defence of the entrance to the fortification in Summerlands.

Ha! Now I've got you just where I want, Pan. FotA has been cast - it's only a matter of time until the anti-Pan alliance is victorious.

Well, what do you think allies? It seems (extremely) unlikely that Pan can be defeated. I am ok with conceding but will also continue if Arco and Mictlan would like to try out some tactics before we finish.

Re: Epic Battles(PBEM) - Game on!
Well, BoT killed off most of my chances to do any fun experiments on DC's empire. I could be using the time saved from this game to focus on my other endgame, where opportunities to do fun experiments abound and I actually have the means to take them. But, I'll stay in as long as Abysia and Mictlan are still in (assuming I'm not eliminated outright).

It might be up to you guys to decide as Mictlan doesn't post much here. From my perspective, I could also go either way. The turns are still fun but they are taking longer and longer.

Re: Epic Battles(PBEM) - Game on!
Pan has the game wrapped up. Given that, it makes sense for all of us to free up time for our other games. Abysia concedes.
Congratulations, DC! You deserve the victory. I wish I could have given you a better fight but my planning throughout the game was poor (what did my pretender, "Al Bundy", really add to my nation?) and yours was excellent (Chalice, WoM, tarts, and BoT for good measure - also good, balanced forces between troops and SCs). I never saw your pretender so I'm curious if it was an awake rainbow? It seemed like your gem income was strong right from the beginning.
Also, thank you to analytic_kernel and shogi for stepping in to keep the game going and to DC for taking over admin responsibilities. Good game, everyone!

Re: Epic Battles(PBEM) - Game on!
I went with a non-conventional strategy (order/non-gorgon) for Pan after getting frustrated playing a conventional Pan design (turmoil/luck - Gorgon) in another MP game. So my pretender was an awake Enchantress that site searched and was key in getting me early magic diversity and making use of Con 8. I found some key indie sites - High Temple of the Magii for fire/astral and then later in the game found the Ivory Tower for those amazing A/S sorceresses, which just happened to be in the same place where I already had a fort/lab to make use of the Steel Ovens. Seriously, my magic site karma in this game was extraordinary, culminating with finding Mt Chaining about 15 turns ago.
I made a big mistake getting in between Mictlan and Pythium - and earning Mictlan's wrath. Fighting 3 on 1 was not easy, especially in terms of trying to decide what to do. I was getting nervous about Aby's strong dominion, blood sacrificing, and vampires but wanted to try and knock out lower research foes first so was throwing most of my weight at Mictlan while working on Undead Mastery and gearing up some Lich's with penetration devices to deal with vamp hordes. I don't recall what my starting Dominion was but it sure felt low in the endgame...
Anyway, I will attach my last turn file if anyone’s interested – I always like seeing them.
Thanks for a fun game, and thanks alot to analytic_kernel and shogi - you guys were great subs - we had a nice pace with no stales in the endgame - amazing! Look forward to playing with you guys again sometime!

Thanks for the fun game, guys. This was my first ever MP game of Dom3, and you made it a good experience. I hope to play with you again sometime.
Congrats on your victory, DC.
