Data Jammers: FastForward Updated To Version 1.1.0!
Patch Available For Immediate Download!
Cary, NC, 21 November 2011
You’ve penetrated deep into the data vaults of Ouroboros and have faced the treacherous digital denizens of the Deep Grid. Jacking in, jamming out, the bitstreams have been your racing grounds; retro wireframe worlds of sights and sounds that can only exist in the digital realm. Worlds waiting to prostrate themselves before your might as you crush the Military Industrial Complex and crash The System.
Now it’s time to take your incursions to the next level with the Data Jammers: FastForward version 1.1.0 upgrade patch! Available for immediate download from Shrapnel Games, this tiny patch (less than a meg in size, the download will go by in a blink of an eye) fixes a few minor bugs but also adds lives to the game.
Now as a Data Jammer the player can choose between “normal” play, with three lives, or for the ultimate FastForward experience choose “hardcore” mode. Hardcore gives the player a single life. No safety nets, no second chances, just you and your skill stand between victory and reformatting. Think you’re good enough to bring down Ouroboros now?
Data Jammers: FastForward is the latest game from the award-winning team of Digital Eel, creators of such games as Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space, Dr. Blob’s Organism, and many more. Published by Shrapnel Games Data Jammers: FastForward is available as a download for Windows (Mac version forthcoming).
Data Jammers: FastForward is a dynamic single-player arcade game of continuously moving three dimensional driving and destruction featuring a retro wireframe world. A perfect game to jump into, play sessions are quick and controls easy to master. Levels can be played in any order, with each level introducing new environments, hazards, enemies, and a unique end boss.
As one would expect from the deviant minds of Digital Eel the audio and visuals are mindblowingly spectacular and yet quite simple in their execution. The neon world of the Deep Grid would be right at home in a certain sci-fi movie, while the soundscape caressing the player’s ears brings to mind the very best in mood altering electronica. Data Jammers: FastForward is not just a Zen-inducing arcade game, it’s a mind altering art experience.
Besides aiming for the all mighty high score there are a variety of achievements which can be earned. The Shrapnel Games download is even fully archivable, allowing back ups to be made, is DRM free, and of course is meant to be played offline.
Noted game designer, industry speaker, and author Ernest Adams has said of Data Jammers: FastForward:
“The Digital Eel guys have done it again: another outrageously retro, tongue-in-cheek, weirdly beautiful, and very inexpensive video game. As if Brainpipe weren't enough, now it's Data Jammers: Fast Forward. What Atari might have produced if they had had a sense of humor and a better CPU. I don't normally flack video games, but these guys' imagination and polish consistently impresses me -- and there's only three of them.”
The version 1.1.0 patch can be downloaded from the Data Jammers: FastForward official product page. If you have not yet exposed your mind to the wonders of FastForward, and want to see what Ernest Adams is raving about, you can download a demo there and check out an teaser video.
