Yes, it's a deep subject and it's one that most every human being seeks in life. Some find it. Some never do. Some thought they had it and then decide they don't. Some missed the chance of a lifetime.
This wonderful thing called love is worth pursuing (to sound a bit corny...wink). Thing is, though it may seem to be a "Brown Mountain light" (you guys living outside of North Carolina, USA, will have to look that one up...grin), you may turn around some day and find what you are looking for.

My parents have been together 30 some years and it's easy to see the're happy together, any time they talk about it.

 I think it's nice that children can see that their parents love each other. However, sometimes, when I'm hugging my wife in the kitchen, our daughter makes a remark. I always say, "Would you rather us argue?" It always gets a "no" answer (smile).

My concept or definition of SM is much less strict, and I expect that there are many more than one for most folks.

I agree wholeheartedly!
Despite the pessimistic attitude displayed below, I believe there are soulmates. Meaning lots of them. People who are meant for you. Doens't confine it to only one person...it just means there are many people out there that are the person you will be most happy with.
Problem is, you need to take that step and make sure you don't let one of the "soulmates" get past you.

One of the weird things, and I think most will agree, is that THIS forum is inhabited by a bunch of geeks. I don't mean that in a bad way but that we are special. My wife used to think of me as a geek but sexually (if I can say such things here), she found out real quick that I'm not a "missionary" person. Fact is, I believe, us geeks are quite a bit quirky when it comes to sex and girls shouldn't "pigeon-hole" us into the boring Category. I say this also because I talk about stuff like this with my other "geek" friends and they are really kinky!
So, we are a bunch of game-loving geeks, IMHO, who are not boring when it comes to love and sex. OK...that should be borderline....LOL.

I always heard that jocks are good for 5 minutes of fun but if you want a real ride hook up with a nerd (geek). That one came from a girl in my high school days. My problem is that I look like a pretty boy so I always got stuck somewhere in between the two. Don’t believe it when the TV says all girls want a 6 foot blue eyed guy. I had my share but if I had just been a little more on the dorky side I think could have had more. As for kinky don’t get me started!
