Demolition of a fort.

Ok here is a fairly simple question.. I'm hoping for a simple answer..

If you say for example script a pretender that is in a fort to cast a global spell and at the same time script another commander to demolish your fort will your pretender then take part in battle if you are attacked on the same turn as you no longer have a fort for your pretender to hide in?
