Default Berserk oddity

I had a pretty strange battle where a berserk Melqart became un-berserk after going over 100 fatigue (nap put him in a better mood?). Anyway, that's what it looked like to me. Has anyone ever experienced a loss of the Gone Berserk tag in battle before?

Yeah, I think anything that shuts them down cancels berserk.
100+ fatigue, definitely. Maybe paralysis?

I'd assume, but haven't tested, that it doesn't work with auto-berserk items.

I've had strange results with Phoenix Pyre before.
Are you sure it isn't after you phoenixed?

He phoenix pyred at the start of the fight, before taking any damage. Then he berserked and proceeded to butcher everything on the field... except two mages. One of these mages hit him with a point blank ghost grip which managed to get his fatigue up over 100 while he was at the brink of death. Then it fled, and when the melqart woke up it decided to run away. The melqart never died though.

No, I first noticed it a long time ago playing MA Man. In a huge battle a bunch of my Mothers got berserked, charged towards the front lines and survived long enough to pass out (thanks to Fog Warriors and Mass Regen). When they woke up they started casting again.
That's the only reason I noticed it. Suddenly spells were going off from the front line.

Mostly it just doesn't happen often. Berserkers who pass out usually just get killed. If it's an SC, they usually have enough reinvig to not pass out without an external source of fatigue, which doesn't go away .

I think I've seen berserking go away, and somewhat recently too, though I can't remember the circumstances. Nothing very exciting happened as a result, I guess?

On my last turn in one of my games, I had a Gilgan take over a battlefield, with Phoenix Pyre and Hell Power and his natural berserking, which never went away... but then, after he'd destroyed all foes and won the battle (with the rest of his side routed), the province ended up empty somehow, and my Gilgan was gone. His unique armor is free for forging, so I guess he died... very mysterious, and very sad!
