Default Building Question

Is there a set number of slots that SPWW2 is programed to use in selecting building icons in the map generator? I ask because I added a few of the old building icons from the earlier version that I thought still looked good onto the end of the shp file for buildings, but I could not get them to show up in the editor.

BTW, whoever worked on the new building icons for SPWW2 and SPMBT did a great job, thanks! It really makes the maps look a lot better. Will any new additions be forthcoming?

Default Re: Building Question

There is a fixed number. So adding new ones, unless you replace/overwrite some of the defaults is pointless.

Cheers

Default Re: Building Question

The building numbers work from a fixed number set for the various building types and are hard coded. There are no "spare" unused slots otherwise the code would be placing invisible buildings on the map because all it knows is we've told it to look between point A and Point B for a building and if we left in blanks it would place that "blank" on the map and call it a stone or wooden house and people complain when they crash into invisible buildings. The number of houses available increased when I redid them. I think there are at least twice as many ( or more ) as there were before but it's been a couple of years since that was done.
