Default M1A2 MCBS Mineclear vs Engineer

What are the real differences in capabilities between the M1A2 MCBS mineclear and engineer tanks?

A minesweeping tank is slightly better at clearing mines than an engineer tank.

An engineer tank is slightly better than a minesweeping tank at clearing barbed wire or dragon teeth obstacles.

They work at about the rate of a 8-9 man section of engineers, but are less likely to be supressed etc so better when working under bombardment than the 8-9 engineers, but a 12 man engineer squad which is left alone may slightly outperform a single engineer vehicle.

2x6 man engineer squads working the same patch may or may not perform at the same rate as a single 12 man lump (because of separate skill chance rolls etc).

Obstacle clearance rates are affected by supression, and unit skill, and number of men for non-vehicle engineer sections. Each separate unit clearing the same obstacle hex runs it's own separate test, they are not accumulated, so having 2+ engineer units work the same area is a good clearance technique in SP - they don't get in each other's way ("many hands make light work", rather than "too many cooks spoil the broth" !
