Default Surrender, HELL!

Playing the USMC 'Nam campaign, I had a squad take some pretty good damage and it surrendered to the VC; I vaguely recall reading in the unit notes from (I think) SPWAW that neither the USMC or Japanese units would surrender; how come this didn't carry over? Differences in coding the units, from game to game?

(I'm not complaining, just curious....though I had a 'HEY! that's not supposed to happen!" moment when it took place...)

IIRC: SP:WAW is based on SPIII Code. SP:MBT is bassed on SPII code.

The CODE and where it started from is not the issue. The **CODERS** who programmed the games and have moved both games WELL beyond sp2 and sp3 and the era they are depicting is the issue. We are not dealing with WW2 japanese and WW2 USMC in WinSPMBT. We DO deal with the surrender issue for WW2 Japanese and WW2 USMC in much the same way in SPWW2 but MBT deals with a whole other era.

Mighty Warrior, surrender should not be an issue that you worry about. The most grand battles spare little on the battlefield. However, even the most worthy soldier can fall victim of such the unfortunate fate that many Marines and less unfortunate fates that many Japanese soldiers faced in WW2. To prevent this is unnecessary. SP1 offers such things, though, if interested.
