Ermythiumephale overpowered? Tell us what you think!

I've seen a lot of debate recently along the lines:

> What? You're crazy! Did you consider that...

Maybe a poll will settle this dispute ;-)

Because of AI shortcomings, I think multiplayer games are the real benchmark to evaluate a nation's strengths and weaknesses, so this is a call to MP players: tell us who you see win and lose the most in the games you played so far!

This poll needs revision. One of the options for "which nation wins MP games the most" should be "Mine". Because I win most of them regardless of which nation I play, probably because I play way too much.

Although you're absolutely right: Ermythiumephale is definitely overpowered. A dead nation with powerful, no-maintenance unholy mage-priests covering the entire gamut of magic paths through their astral, death, and multiple randoms, and cheaply summonable 0-upkeep communion slaves that are also unholy priests? That's definitely overpowered.

When I looked at the results, Ermor was in the lead in both categories (most likely to win *and* most likely to be eliminated first).

Of course, this poll is unscientific: it just asks people their subjective impressions of which nations are most likely to win/be eliminated, and is not based on actual records of games played. People may remember incorrectly.

Also, it compares games played with different game settings, maps, and sets of nations participating, and as we all know, Dom 2 has a significant luck element (and I'm not just talking about the scale).

Add this to your poll. How many of these wins were by Clam Hoarding Vamp Queens??? If I join one more Multi that has 3-4 Vamp Queen pretenders (yawn...boring) I am going to puke! Come on people get a little more creative.

Vampire Queens have their points, but they're not that good. You just need to play with some different people.

VQ is optimal hmm? Well, I'll be damned, I rarely use VQ's at all and I win 95% of all my games. But if dem's the facts, then I guess dem's the facts.

In the games I've been in the ability of the players and who they decide to attack and gang up on plays a far larger role in who wins than what nations have been picked. You can be the best player with the best nation and if the rest of the players gang up on you, you're in trouble. I haven't played many (probably any) games where all the players were of about equal skill and knew each other well, though.

That makes sense to me. People love to gang up on Ermor but given the right map, players, and settings it isn't exceptionally hard to turn them into a powerhouse.
