Q. About huge and massive fighters

I have restarted playing after a few years away so I am out of the loop.

What are huge and massive fighters, available in some shipsets, used for? My game only uses 3 sizes.

Are they for some Mod?

Some shipsets have Huge and Massive fighters due to the requirements of a particular mod. Take a look at the Neo Standard Shipset rules, you can find a good explanation here.

A mod that I am currently working on has fighters in the following weight sizes. 10kt, 15kt, 20kt, 25kt, and 30kt.
