Guide: winSPWW2v4.0 Game Guide in PDF format

I’ve attached an unofficial conversion of the WinSPWW2 Game Guide 4.0 to PDF format.

EDIT: Be aware that this PDF Game Guide is version 4.0 the updated 4.5 HTML version is available in your 'Game Notes' folder which is found here:

A PDF version of the 4.5 Game Guide is on my list of things to do, but it's not close to the top yet.


I added a more detailed index to the bookmark column.

All the internal and external links have been tested and work (except the obsolete next page/previous page). If anyone finds any errors please let me know.

The file had to be zipped, because at 15MB it’s over the max PDF attachment size.

I may try to arrange a direct link, so you will be able to open the Game Guide from your browser.


PDF Readers
The best PDF reader I've used is PDF-XChange Viewer, which has an excellent free version. You can read more about it here:

Ofcourse the HTM format is good, but there's one thing that I find defected:
the searching capability. You know this when you want to find a particular phrase or sentence or even words. In HTM format you'll have to go around each separate "bookmarked chapters" only to press Ctrl+F many times and don't find it. In PDF format however, we'll just have to type the text on the search box, and the Reader will find it through the whole document!

Interesting, as of this writing, this thread has had 735 hits, but the Game Guide file appears to have 1766 hits!

I assume someone must be hotlinking the file from somewhere.

Perhaps Shrapnel won't mind, because the game guide helps promote the game, and the more people that get their hands on the guide hopefully the less daft questions Don and Andy have to field

But I find myself wondering, if it is a hotlink, what site is generating a 1000 hits on the game guide in a just a few days? Anyone know?

Well, it shows that people really DO prefer the PDF format, if nothing else.

Does Google somehow link directly to the attachment?
