This is a guide intended to both familiarize players with the mod nation of MA Jomon (http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/showthread.php?t=48407) so they'll know what to expect when facing it in an MP...

Re: Pricing mages

Would you mind breaking down the implications of this for the folks who aren't hip to the linear regression lingo?

Re: Jomon: The Courts of the Ryu

Glad you like the mod, Torgon.

Those are all good points about the Ryujin. However, the Ryujin maintains its role as a special bonus mage in MA Jomon because you'll want to be hiring Saigu at...

Re: National summon as a god?

The monolith generates nature gems because of druidic rituals, so that's similarly immobile and nature-generating.

There is a mod out...

Re: Immaculate-002: Late Age for Noobs (now in the mid-game)

Aqualibrium's been castin' Well of Misery (http://dom3.servegame.com/wiki/Well_of_Misery) which does two things:
1) Everyone (you, me, and everyone else) gets 10% more income from their provinces...

Re: UnitGen - Random nations with procedural sprites!

Those are some really cool developments elmokki. This creation of yours is getting pretty snazzy and I, along with many others, I'm sure, look forward to its continued refinement.

Re: National summon as a god?

Something like Ulm's Iron Angel would be neat. Give it some earth magic, a modest forge bonus, excellent combat abilities and make additional magic paths exorbitantly expensive for it then turn it...

Re: Second Sun for income

I agree that the net positive benefit for a Heat-preference nation is less than a temp-neutral, cold-3 nation. However, that cold-3 nation does need to deal with the gold loss of all of those turns...

Re: Income and population mechanics

A mod I have been contributing to was released recently (http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/showthread.php?t=48407) which introduces a new nation which has high admin castles, a cheap patrol-bonus unit,...

Re: Second Sun for income

I've never used this spell, nor have I ever seen it used (I doubt I'm alone in that). As such, I don't know to what extent that global works. Does it only shift the temperature three steps (so...

Re: Immaculate-002: Late Age for Noobs (now in the mid-game)

Crap! I have got to follow this thread better.

Anyway, with Jomon dead and buried it's time for someone to start something and it looks like T'ien Ch'i has. *Sniff* I'm so proud. So yeah,...

Re: Why is the Titan so expansive?

Stat-wise, there isn't all that much of a difference between the two. The gold shield is nice, as is the lightning, but neither amounts to a 50 design point difference. Now, the Titan does start with...

Re: Feeble mind not healing?

The heal skill only affects living, non-old creatures (i.e. not undead, not demon, not lifeless). Golems are lifeless, so no healing. The only options available for healing a golem is the chalice (an...

Re: Blesses and ranged weapons

A water-9 bless will get your archers to fire 50% more often (3 times every two combat rounds) so that's something. A death bless will have their arrows causing more afflictions. That's actually very...

Re: MA: Jomon: The Courts of the Ryu - Looking for insight

As Legowarrior alluded to, we are releasing a beta version of this mod very soon (in the next day, maybe two). Unfortunately, there were a few things we wanted to do with this mod which Dom3 just...

Re: Two Quick Modding Questions

The manual says

9.8 #school <school nbr>
Magic school for this spell. The number ranges from -1 to 7, see Table 15.

With -1 being unresearchable. I tried that. It didn't work.

Re: Two Quick Modding Questions

Alright, I got another question: how do you make national spells for a nation no longer available? Specifically, for the MA Jomon mod Legowarrior and I are working on, I need to redefine LA Jomon to...

Re: MA: Jomon: The Courts of the Ryu - Looking for insight

Specifically, the female soldiers of MA Jomon all wear something in the style of a Hakama (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hakama), with a white top and reddish-orange bottom. Legowarrior did a good job...

Re: Two Quick Modding Questions

Now when you say map commands, I'm assuming you mean commands to modify a specific map, and not some subset of commands you can put in a normal nation mod. If so, I don't think that'd work for this...

How do you add underwater province defense to a land nation (like what LA Jomon or LA Atlantis have)?

Re: MA: Jomon: The Courts of the Ryu - Looking for insight

The Jomon of this era are supposed to be those refugees who fled the Yomi and Bakemono and swore fealty to the Ryujin. If this exodus was recent then MA Jomon's should be more of a military...

Re: MA: Jomon: The Courts of the Ryu - Looking for insight

The Miko is excellent against undead/demons but against everything else they are merely a high-accuracy, low, low defense/protection archer. Being sacred combined with cap-only is a real disadvantage...

Re: MA: Jomon: The Courts of the Ryu - Looking for insight

For what it's worth, Eriu's Milesian Slinger looks a little burlier than your typical slinger.

Re: MA: Jomon: The Courts of the Ryu - Looking for insight

I thought long and hard on the Wokou and I think I found the role for them: cheap shock troops. The idea is that the Wokou are very aggressive pirates who know they need to overwhelm the enemy...

Re: MA: Jomon: The Courts of the Ryu - Looking for insight

Home sickness is a huge disadvantage for a recruitable unit, somewhere on the level of vanishing after one combat like Pythium's gladiators. Typically being map move-1 is enough to discourage using a...
