				 Combat Log
I hate to sound like a noob but I can't find anywhere in the manual where and how to look at the combat log that everyone is talking about. The video replay is just not enough to test some tactics I'm afraid.

 Anyone?

run dom3 from the command line as 'dom3.exe -ddddd' or similar. More ds = more data, less ds = less data. |

				 Re: Combat Log
sorry I must be dumb or something. I don't see any difference with a normal replay except it takes way longer to run the game and I get numbers in the upright corner depending on where my mouse pointer is. I tried with 15 ds.
I always see people in the forums talking about detailed battle reports with each unit action detailed, dmg dealt precisely etc...
 How do I get that?

It is written to a log text file in your dom3 directory |

-ddd should be really enough. And yeah, you should get a .txt file in your main dom folder. Decrypting it is not easy though. |

				 Re: Combat Log
It's debug log more than combat log. It can be useful for identifying bugs or understanding some mechanics, but reading it for every battle wouldn't be useful. I haven't tested it with just a single -d, but that might help a bit. |

				 Re: Combat Log
There is no point in using more than 2 d IIRC.
As endo said it is a debug log (hence -d) and not a combat log. It is not intended to be useful to players, but to be useful to us when finding bugs. Still some players seem to like it so we didn't remove it.
