Not bad! In multiplayer, you probably can't afford to let Kohen Gadol lead your armies. Three indy commanders (40 leadership each) also only take one turn, lets you recruit a researcher and are less vulnerable to spells like Mind Hunt. It takes more micromanagement, but it's very widespread in MP.
