Re: OT: Heroes V. demo is out today!
I am against all games that regquire outrageous minimum requirements. IMO, it is just laziness on the makers parts not to allow for lower systems (and mine isn't that old!) to play. I mean, except for the graphics, nothing requiring that much power seems to be present in the game, so why require it? It is just plain lazy.

What are these excessive requirements of which you speak?

Windows 2000/XP, Pentium 1GHz, 512MB RAM
It's only the RAM that's killing me. Ouch.

RAM helps in many, many things, is cheap, and one of the easiest things to add into a computer. I'm not sure why they need that much RAM for the game, but I think adding some RAM is well worth it, especially if it allows you to play a game you'd probably like.

Re: OT: Heroes V. demo is out today!
Looks like HOMM V will be much better then I expected.
The fact that it picks a lot of things from HOMM III is a good thing since HOMM III was best game in series. HOMM IV made a lot of nice things but had a lot of flaws as well (AI being one of those). Actually, I liked some changes HOMM IV introduced, like fightning heroes and different magic system but game felt like you play alone with bunch of monsters on the map with brain dead AI.
Graphics look great too and combat system in HOMM V insn't bad either (not very different from HOMM III but it has some important changes).

Yeah, this gonna be better then Heroes 3 even. The demo first campaign mission is hard, the AI is playing very well I must say. The game gonna be big fun in MP until Doms 3.

Re: OT: Heroes V. demo is out today!
I remember reading in many forums opinions such as that "TBS is dead". I'm not saying that there is a TBS flood but consider the releases this year: Civ IV, GC-II, HOMM-V, SE-V, DOM-III. I also read somewhere that Diciples-III (renaissance)is in development. All of those are at least solid, well, maybe its the TBS renaissance
