Re: kailasa vs abysia
We need further details to offer furhter help. What, exactly, is causing you problems? Their troops, their magic, summoned demons, assassins or some combination of the above? How far has the game progressed? What magic and what gems do you have access to? Do you have a blessing, and have you summoned any of your better sacred troops (Gandharvas at Conj 5 come with two attacks and a whopping 18 protection, as well as Awe and the generally superhuman stats of the Yakshas)? Do you have enough time to look for magic sites, or are you pressed to figure out a way to stop his assault?
Rain and Fire Ward will help against his magic, but they'll also help against his troops' heat aura. Wolven Winter cast at his rich provinces will screw his economy. If you have Death scale, just waiting for a year would be enough if he's relying on his mages, because Death together with their high old age will ensure that most of them get afflicted. If he has neglected the defence of his mainland, you might manage a surprise attack with teams of stealthy Atavi (preferably Archers) and a few castings of Call of the Wilds. If he's sending Warlocks into battle, you might want to Magic Duel them with your more easily accessible Yogis and Gurus. In desperate cases, you might consider using Bandar Archers scripted to Hold & Attack Rearmost. During the turns they Hold, they fire their bows towards enemy Rear, and while they lack the buckler they can still be devastating in melee. Abysians don't have national missile troops and if he's using the morningstar troops, they'll probably bypass the small shields any way.

Re: kailasa vs abysia
iron bane, then swarm him with a markata only army... hmm
Its mostly his burning ones, the EA sacreds.
That and he casts divine bless + fanatacism with f9 bless. Punches right through my defences, awe and high def. Even the goodly ghandarvas (sp?) are just fodder for his troops.
I'll go for what I intended though, destruction is the way to go.

Re: kailasa vs abysia
Maybe banefire crosbows will work against his burning ones. If they get decayed, they'll drop dead in a couple of rounds.

Re: kailasa vs abysia
yeah, don't bother using your sacreds against abysia, you want to pop his armor and shoot them to death...avoid melee with anything but chaff (I might try markata mixed with Bandar up front to help out their abysmal morale, and then bandar longbows shooting him. They can mix it up in melee if they have to once the markata break if they have to)

Against destruction+hordes of monkeys? Summoned troops that dont rely on armour+god-like fire evocations from hell.

Re: kailasa vs abysia
The bandar longbows will probably do more damage to his own troops, with their crappy precision.
I'd go for truckloads of melee Bandars, with screens of markatas to tie up his slow moving troops and hopefully break their formations. Follow this up with Swarm if you have it.
Abysians have lousy defence, so you want strong troops to smash their armour. Definitely cast Strength of Giants on your units, taking priority over Legions of Steel (though that's good for your armoured Bandars). Cloud spells could be effective as well.
I'd not bother using Atavis for stealth raiding. EA Abysia has fearsome PD. Their armies are slow however, and yours are fast, so you should have an easier time concentrating your forces. Aim to wipe out their smaller armies, and try to go on the offensive with your own small forces. Abysia has expensive forts, so there will probably be large areas of their empire without any defensive garrisons.
The advice about using Wolven Winter is good. Your own troops won't be badly affected, but Burning Ones lose 1 point of attack, defence, strength and movement for each level of coldness. Use it before big battles, even (especially) in your own provinces, and during battles for forts.
