One interesting ability to consider would be immortality. That'd be REALLY good power - but you'd be vulnerable in the Arena.

Is it possible to grant immortality through an item? I wouldn't have thought so.

Granting the power should work fine, but the fact that you lose the item when dying would be troublesome. I hadn't considered that, and thus the suggestion wouldn't work as I imagined. Any way, Elixir of Life basically does this.

That might take the edge off knowing you'll have to go into the next arena battle knowing that your opponents might well have been kitted out with the champion's death in mind.

Oh well. To bad something else can't be added, but as long as someone makes the Trident Uber that works for me 8)
