I once had a diseased commander gain 5 months of life from an assassination attempt.

EA Marverni Druid, started the fight at 2 HP, cast Blessing first round, which gave him Regeneration. By the time his bodyguards finished off the assassin, he was back up to his full 8 HP.

After the fight, he lost 1 HP to the disease again.
