Take advantage of that 0-encumbrance and natural protection of 19:
-Get him some heavy armor (black steel full plate)
-Get him a decent shield (charcoal)
-Toss in a fire-brand for good measure
-Beg/borrow/steel a pair of boots of quickness
-Embed him with some other 6-AP infantry (longdead?) and watch him go
