Is Space Empires IV the Most Addictive Game Ever?

hmmm, now that I think of it Axis & Allies is really close too. Especially if you count the board game. I love that game. Know it inside and out. I thought I was pretty darn good until I ran into some expert Online players in leagues like Spring 1942 . Some of those players make no mistakes! They have a great community too; albeit not as fun as this one.

SE3 was addictive. Civ2 was addictive. Star Control 2 was/is addictive. SE4G is just a fun game, not addictive.

SEIVG has got to be one of the most if not the most addicting games I have ever played. I've played some awesome games but they get old after awhile. This one I can keep coming back to over and over again. It's great!

I guess it depends how you definve addictive. I think a game is addictive if like Empires II you play it from the time you bought it at 3pm and don't stop till 7am.

(and then have to skip class that day to sleep)

SE4 has never been that way for me. I love SE4 becase you can play it by e-mail or PBW in short stints.

Hmm funny I think of SE4 as not addictive compared to other games yet it is now the only game I play and I've spent a zillion hours prograamming a modding tool. Hmmm think I better look up addictive in the dictionary

No, for when I played Tribes, I was a GOD!

The game lost its appeal after all the exploits and cheaters started playing. (Kindread Clan being amoung the most prolithic cheaters I have ever had the misfortune of fragging.)

I spent nearly a year playing Tribes exclusively between bouts of BOTF, and was regarded as one of the best players in the game. When T2 came out, I like many other vetrans moved on. T2 was a far more demanding game, and when I choose to play it, I often finish in the top 3. But since no one else I knew was realy playing it, I slowly lost interest in it. I returned to Tribes 1 and found it flooded with cheaters. I did just fine, but often became very angry at what I was seening. Finally I decided that no game should cause me stress, only pleasure, so I did the only thing I could do, I stopped playing it. And that is a decision I regret even to this day. But I won't go back. I can't not give into the beast. I refuse too. Tribes is evil. Evil. Damn it, where in the hell is my Tribes DISK?????

The most addictive game for me was Tetris. I would play a game, and then I'd be doing well until I make some dumb mistake and stack some pieces in the wrong spot. Then when I lose, I'd think, "I could do better than that. If only I didn't make that mistake at the end."

Then I'd start a new game. Each time I finish a game, I'd feel that I could do better, and I'd keep retrying. Then later I would look at the time and I've spent three hours playing Tetris.

At night, when I go to bed and close my eyes, I can still see those different shapes floating down, and I couldn't get them out of my mind. Even during the day, I see the furniture in the room, and I'd think: if I move this desk over beside the filing cabinet, and move this chair here, they would fit nicely...
