That is correct. But the impact is somewhat more special:
Put (one fighter is enough) a fighter to a ship fleet, do not move them. Next turn: Your ship supplies are 50% (exactly), one turn later they are almost empty.

Sounds like the game is splitting the supply pool of the fleet evenly between the ship and the fighter, even though the fighter can't hold half the pool...

You know, I just saw this yesterday and thought I was seeing things. The fully resupplied fleet (with fighters) went 5 sectors, had a minor battle with 1 ship and before it returned to the planet it was at the "low supply" warning. I don't normally fleet fighters with ships so I didn't notice this before.

Anyone report this to MM?

Maybe the ships keep having to alter course to avoid fighters, so they use more fuel... er ya... not.
