				 SE4 Cheats
 I've been around a while. And it seems if games don't come with cheat codes built in, other people figure out how to do them by themselves.
 Other than taking advantage of what SE4 allows (stuff like 3 training facilities together, etc.), are there any known cheats out there that do stuff like:

 (a)  Increase resource production;
 (b)  Produce ships faster;
 (c)  Increase or decrease off/def.;
 (d)  debug the .GAM file;
 (e)  debug .PLR files; and/or
 (f)  discover map attributes.

 NOW, not that I'm looking for myself 'cause I just don't believe in cheating. I just want to know IF stuff like that is out there and IF it's being used in a game I'm in...what symtoms/clues to look for if a cheat is being used.

 You see, I used to play Hearts at MS Gaming till I learned people used card-counting programs along side their hand. And I played MechWarror 3 at MS Gaming Zone till I learned people used "trainer" mechs, rapid-fire weapons, and etc.

 So, I guess what I'm asking is has SE4 been "compromised" (sort of).

 Things have been discovered from time to time. As they are they get reported to MM and they get patched out. Use the latest Version.

 Yeah, geo, I just cleared my HD of all SE Versions and re-loaded and upped to 1.84. So, in that way, I'm OK.
 But you said stuff had been done and reported (and fixed/blocked). Like for example?

				 Re: SE4 Cheats
 You used to be able to reset your space yards after emergency build and wouldn't have to do slow build.There used to be a way to see where your opponents mines were.
 You used to be able to cheat and build ships and units for basicaly nothing.
 You used to be able to change your empire characteristics and racial traits after the game started.
 You used to be able to drastically accelerate your research.

 This is a short list of some of my least favorite ways people have cheated at SE4. All have been fixed in previous patches. You can see them in the history. It's not always spelled out in so many words, but it's there.

 There are a couple of cheats listed in the manual. These can be toggled on or off when setting up a game. They will speed up construction and/or give you resources.
 Slick.

	Wow. Never heard of any of those. Especially the one about mines. That one never even crossed my mind. I read about he SY EB cheat. But, that was a flaw in the game.Quote:

 Interesting. Well, here's hoping 1.84 stays ahead of the hackers a few months...LOL

	Hmmm, I turn it off all the time. Never even read what was available. About the only cheat codes I ever looked into were the ones in DOOM II (and that was done purely for level development and testing purposes).Quote:

	Sometimes, I really feel stupid. I just remember seeing the cheat code box and always turned it off. I never paid attention if it was always there much less what type of game it appeared in...Quote:
