				 Re: Ratings
 Why don't they turn the rating systems off? that would be the easiest solution. |

				 Re: Ratings
 The Moderators can not check Ratings, and the only forum admin (Tim Brooks) isn't too responsive to us lowly members.
But I do agree that the best solution would be to eliminate the Ratings mod altogether. It adds nothing beneficial to the forum. |

 Taz just ATE his stars...try them they are tasty!
How do you eat your stars you ask?

1) go to profile
2) scroll down to the display Ratings question
3) check the NO option
4) save profile
5) enjoy no longer seeing stars!!!

	Sure it does. It gives us all something to gripe about and boost our post count. See, if we didn't have the rating system then you wouldn't have as many Posts as you do.Quote:

 But I for one, do not care about what my rating is. So I am not going to bother shutting it off.

				 Re: Ratings
 I think its kinda fun, actually. I started with a one-star rating (probably hit by that guy who was being a jerk, oh well), but I though "ooh, how exciting, i have a rating now!" and then it was ever so exciting when it went up to 2, and now, wonder of joyous wonders, its 3! oh boy! and if it ever goes down again, eh, so what, i don't really mind, except that then theres a chance it will go bak up, and i can be excited ALL OVER AGAIN! edit:
Here's a post about ranks and rankings from a while back:
http://www.shrapnelgames.com/cgi-bin...3;t=006899;p=1
has a list of the ranks too, reprinted here for convenience:

# Posts = rank:
0 = Private
51 = Corporal
200 = Sergeant
400 = Second Lieutenant
600 = First Lieutenant
800 = Captain
1000 = Major
1250 = Lieutenant Colonel
1500 = Colonel
1750 = Brigadier General
2000 = Major General
2500 = Lieutenant General
3000 = General
3500 = National Security Advisor
4000 = Ruler of the World

hrm, given that i've edited all but about 10 Posts, and double, triple, and quadruple edited a few, if edits counted, i'd be a Sergeant by now. *sigh* it'll probably be another week and a half before i get 103 more Posts.

				 Re: Ratings
 Rating is overated.
I had a pretty good rating untill I started oppossing the war in Iraq, calling Bush a moron, and defending Israel.
I guess some people are childish enough to rate people based in non-SE4 issues.
Anyway, I removed the option to rate me not just because it sunk to the bottom, but because I started feeling like that rating is a pressure to be liked by the group, and I'm not like that. I'm what I am and I'm as politically incorrect or correct as I believe is right, and the Last thing I want is to be judged.

				 Re: Ratings
 yeah, if mine sinks to 1 again i'll probably kill it, but at the moment it's fun to watch it go up little by little.
 Hrm, thats really unjustified of them, i agree. its supposed to be about giving good advice and stuff, not agreeing/disagreeing with political opinions.

	I dunno about your comments on "tha war" (I gon't bother reading those threads) but I can remember your name associated with some remarks that I would label "uncalled for": remarks about a person's chosen nickname here and, I think, even his choice of Einstein as an avatar. I'd call that a personal attack for no apparent reason that I could discern.Quote:

 So, just maybe it wasn't your views on "tha war". I didn't bother to go make any adjustment to your rating, but the comments you made in that thread were remembered. It was back when you had some wizard (or something) as your avatar.
