Re: A (rating) Challenge
Well, I don't know about AI from messing up a rating...LOL. I played a game with Gryphin where some TDM AI were in the game and I got "distracted" a bunch! I mean, they were MEAN!
HOWEVER, I don't think your thread is a bad idea...it might be nice to have a thread where "challenges" or "invitations" for a Ratings one-on-one contest could be invited.
Having said that...(gulp)...I'd entertain a proposal for a one-on-one game with you (the reigning champion in the Ratings). I know you to be a brutal adversary. I remember you from my first KOTH game (where you spanked me and sent me home) and I think I will be better prepared for you in another game. After all, my best friend on the forum, Asmala, has taken me under his wing and given a lot of advice...which has made me a bit better.
So...???

Re: A (rating) Challenge
I'd love to play you again Slynky, but let me see if I can get any takers for this game with AI's first.
I do love the KOTH format, but I would like to try for a little larger game without missing the speed of only beeing 2 players.
I'll just let the challenge stay here a little longer. Any takers

Re: A (rating) Challenge
Seems like it would add a large element of luck, and several issues of AI abuse requiring house rules. A major factor would be what happens with the AI, so exploiting them would be a major element of the contest, but rules would need to be agreed on what AI abuses were allowed or not. Even then, the AI would probably be unpredictable, tending to tip the scales in one direction or the other.

The idea was to set the game in team mode, making the AI's partner each other and instantly decleare war on both humans. That should not leave much posibilities for exploits.
Of course there would be an element of luck as to which direction the AI's would attack, but trying to "herd" the AI's against your opponent would make an interesting challenge. Or at least I belive it to be so.
Still no takers
