I rarely get bored because I can usually find something to do. When I was a kid, I didn't want to look like I have nothing to do, because I would be assigned more chores if I looked bored. Come to think of it, it's the same sort of thing at work, too: if you don't seem to be busy, they keep giving you more stuff to do.

I did, but I have to admit I prefer Angband over Nethack. (Although I cannot use/don't know how to use most of the variants with the nice interface for Angband)
