I don't know about that... the AD&D rules were rather rough and had a lot of silly things in them... like the psionics system.

Though, I still haven't decided whether 2nd edition or 3rd edition is the better of the pair... I do have a lot of 2nd edition books and no inclination to shovel out 400+ dollars to buy all of the 3rd edition equivalents...
