Re: New PBW : Menzoberrazan - Menace of the drow elfs
Isn't it like "dwarves/dwarfs".
IIRC the correct plural of dwarf in modern English is "dwarfs", but Tolkien used "dwarves" to make ir sound more archaic. Then the name sticked on and many other fantasy authors used the same plural.

Re: New PBW : Menzoberrazan - Menace of the drow elfs
In any sort of serious fantasy it is "elves," "elvish," and "elven." It is only in light frivilous stuff that you see "elfs," "elfish," and "elfin."
Actually... the correct way to pluralize a word that ends in "lf" is by changing it to "lves." Half and halves anyone? "Halfs" is most certainly a wrong pluralization.

Re: New PBW : Menzoberrazan - Menace of the drow elfs
I thought it was Halfies. That would make it Elfies, right? But Since Faries are Fay maybe Elfies are Eay? Maybe not. Maybe there are so many Versions, and since the original source is unidentifyable, and since the whole thing is totally nonsenseical, it doesnt freaking matter WHAT you call em.
All I know, is that whenever I see this thread, all I can think of is Marzipan - Menace of the Carmel Pasteries.
and no, they're not pasterves or pasters.
