Eah, it seems this banking mess was not so good idea. And I've just realized, that I won't be able to pay if someone will be lucky enough to win 20 millions (minerals, whatever) in MY casino, without financial support (from bank). I will be forced to sell all my empire to winner . So I have to throw away casino too. Remaining points are not so important to give me some kind of immunity. Sux. So damn versatile game - fight or die. But never mind, we have allies, we have guns (hopefully they are big). No pasaran!

PS: As I understand it is the very first noob question: "Why they are killing me and why all my brilliant ideas don't work the way I'd like to?"

Suicide Junkie once played an insterstellar black market dealer of starships and technology... I thought it would be fun so I tried it in one of my other games... I don't know about him but I've started to regret that, I don't want to be a businessman!

edit: actually, when I first saw this post title I thought, "oh, someone wants to expand PBW to incorporate other games, and maybe turn it into a commercial venture?"

I make a non-trivial amount of money from trade treaties, and the higher treaties provide more access to services.
I also provide annual kickbacks as account credits to members.

I buy and sell at cost for resources and tech.
I sell my ships for a profit, since they all use my unique racial tech of extremely low maintenance (less than 1% maint).

The resource prices are so far off because the game is being played under my P&N mod, and technology has hit the point where lots of high-energy engines and weapons are in demand, and between the buckytube gel armor and my organic tech, the ships I sell are pretty heavy in the organics department.

I have built base space yards in a number of systems to make and sell ships to the locals, too.

I cannot colonize planets at all, but
I am currently in second place.

I was in first place for the longest time, but then Fyron had to come along and start taking over the galaxy
I can't really complain, though since he's my best customer, and as the Ferengi know, "War is good for business"

That Galactic Services and Vehicles Catalog really rocks!
Though, I think, original game is not very suitable for such machinations. So all we really need is to find a couple of obsessed marketing managers and let them release fulfeatured Monopoly game on SEIV engine

Hey, they started that war. Slaughtering an innocent scientific craft, just going out to chart the gravimetric potential of those newfound warp points... not very nice of them.

I figured you could be of use to me, so did not wipe you out early on. I always thought it was the Darklights in 1st place for the first so many turns. Now I know! Now where are those new ships...
