If the mission is still in progress, then its probably just not time to report back yet.

I suspect you may need to hunt down the Last of the enemy ships before the mission succeeds.

I've never been able to dock with a pirate starbase. They don't seem to have any features to access. Which is weird. Don't pirates need supplies and information like everyone else?

I just sat there with point defense cannons and shield/armor repair thingys. Went down very easily.
