Re: ME Problems?
1) Right click on my computer, select properties.
2) Go to the device manager tab
3) Find your CD drive (should be at the top of the list, under the CDROM Category)
4) Press Properties
5) Go to the settings tab.
6) Clicky the "Auto Insert Notification" checkbox as you like, then hit OK to save the change.
This will make it so windows won't pop up and do stuff as soon as you put a disk in. I use a shortcut on my desktop (in quick launch bar beside start) in case I actually do want to run whatever's on the CD.

Re: ME Problems?
Hi Guys:
I am pretty sure Aaron made it so that the disk has to be present to start the game. I will check with Aaron to make sure.
ME is always troublesome. I have ME on my laptop and hate it. Do you have the most recent Version, ie all patches?
I am sure this was tested under ME so the problem is probably local to your system, but I know that doesn't help much. After you try what has been suggested, and if still having problems, then go to our Customer Support Centerand open a ticket. They are really good at this stuff.

Re: ME Problems?
Yes, you do need the disk in the drive. Which worries me, because in my CD drive the Starfury disc makes a LOT of noise. It doesn't like certain CDs, and Starfury appears to be one of them.
EDIT: that and the auto-run tries to install SF every time you put the disc in..

That's exactly what's happening to my computer, noise and all. I'll see about opening that ticket Tim Brooks talked about.

Re: ME Problems?
Let me make it clear, for me it does work despite the noise. Try burning a copy, for me the copy is quieter.

Re: ME Problems?
Yeah, it does seem to require you use the CD. My laptop asks me to put it in when it is not present. The very first time I ran the game, it did not detect the cd but after reinserting it, things worked fine. I use Windows XP Professional.

Re: ME Problems?
I do suggest imaging the CD to your hdd and creating a virtual cd drive
I do this alot as my CD drive is slow and sometimes causes my machine to play up
