Re: Mod Tool?
Of course it would be a GUI based program. It'll be written in Visual Basic, so it'll look like most other windows programs (pre XP, I've been working with .Net, but not enough to make it easy to make something like this).
How about I throw together like a "monster modder" or something like that, just a simple part of a whole mod program so you guys can see what I mean and tell me what you think?
EDIT
I'm gonna do spell modding, cause that will be easiest seen as it has the smallest number of options.
EDIT
Well I've done some really preliminary work at spell modding, only to find that you can't really do it. :S Oh well, this is kinda what the mod tool will look like:

Re: Mod Tool?
Ok, I've done a lot of the design work, still doesn't DO anything yet, but it has a lot of the look and options that will be there in it's v1.0
I've updated the rar file, so just download that and you'll be able to browse through the look of it, I also have some pics that I took of it.
You'll have to look at them at this site:

Re: Mod Tool?
I hope that your mod tool can load DM files and import them into to the system. Is that possible?

Re: Mod Tool?
It will be able to do that, and what I'd like to be able to make it do is load all the units from the game data itself, but that would take a LOT of playing around with a hex editor to find where and how the data is being stored...

Re: Mod Tool?
Well thanks for the encouragement, I've still been working on it, and I'll probably get done the mod info and weapon modding first, then post that. Once that's done and working it'll only be a matter of time until all current mod possibilities are supported.
I'm not going to post what I've just done because it doesn't add anything yet, just some behind the sceens work that's needed.
