Ok something strange is going on. I uploaded my pretender a while ago, and I just went in to play my turn, and that is not my pretender or scales. There wasn't even a password. What the heck is going on? The scales are so messed up, I'm pretty much screwed. Is it possible for someone else to upload over me? I'm playing Man.

You have been gazumped. Unfortunately, the only available remedy is to restart the game, which I don't want to do as it has taken so long to get it started in the first place. And there would be no guarantee that another gazumping would not occur.

Many people, myself included, are desperately hoping that Illwinter will give us some protection from gazumpers in the next patch.

In the meantime, your only alternatives are to play the broken position, or go to AI.

If your scales have been deliberately screwed over in such a fashion, this may be deliberate sabotage.

This wouldn't surprise me: It appears the game may have been sabotaged again: The system is down!

While the game shows as one minute to host....and has been doing so for nearly an hour now, it is impossible to connect: Further investigation reveals the designated port is simply not listening. Consultation of the Magic 8-Ball reveals "Outlook not so good.". Don't use Outlook, obviously. It sucks.
