Re: New map
First, I would like to thank you all for your congratulations.
Then, I'll try to explain these points :
- SITES ARCHAIQUES : presence of old cultures or vestiges of forgoten civilizations ;
- SITES REMARQUABLES : a special site... ;
- EDIFICES RELIGIEUX : A religion related site ;
- EDIFICES MILITAIRES : a special military related site
>> All these buildings on the map indicate the presence of a magic site (one of the many magic sites of the game). Some have archaïcs, religious or military background (directly inspired from the RPG universe of Hannoerth).
And the Last one, is simply remarquable (without archaïc, religious or military background).
I will publish, soon, a real "touristic Guide" for this map and the other, and some other stuf about the universe of Hannoerth... All these points should be clearer !

Re: New map
Hello everybody !
Robin your map is wonderful ! It gives the feeling of travelling through a real landscape, I love that ! The game becomes more immersive with "Tyrande".
Is the "touristic guide" coming soon ? I can't wait to read about each site and its story ! Searching for magic sites will be even more exciting !
Thanks for the great work !

Re: New map
I love this map as well and really enjoy it in terms of following its story and travelling through its realm. I also like the way the water is bunched up in one area, promoting an Atlantis-R'lyeh feud (although the creators seem to understand that it's unbalanced if you don't have two water nations.)
My only concern is the amount of power on the board and some of the starting locations -- I note that the water races start off with really poor opportunities with only three neighbors apiece. Haven't tried land yet (finals) but that seemed to give them a bit of a disadvantage (which might be balanced by the sheer amount of water area for them to conquer all by themselves.)
I'm also curious to hear if anybody feels any of the sites are a little overly powerful. I know I was surprised to start, as R'lyeh, in a space with a Kraken Pit right off the bat. That gave me a huge advantage to conquering indies but I think it'd balance out in the long run. But are there any greater areas of concern?
Otherwise, though, I'm -very- impressed by this effort and look forward to more. I'll definitely keep playing it SP over the summer.

Re: New map
Speaking of play balance, I've noted that the upper area of the map, basically the all-snow provinces are incredibly population-poor. While this is certainly thematic, it's -very- tough when you start out in that area. Yes, the resources are high, but with such low populations, it's pretty tough to make the requisite gold totals to really make use of them. I had several populations (granted with Turmoil 2) which were producing 0 income and I noted that just about every province surrounding my capital had under 2000 pop. That's pretty rough.
Granted, it encourages you to run out and grab land ASAP, but in MP, I'd think the advantage would certainly swing to players who started in the more bountiful south. Thoughts from other players?

Re: New map
Dear KO,
You teased us with a map of you several weeks ago, any words on the progress state?
As for Tyrande, the map is perhaps better played solo, as it is true that for MP some starting locations are rather poor compared to others. Still, the map is the most beautiful one I ever saw for dominions, surpassing even the majestic Karan map.

Re: New map
Pocus
Hmm, map is ready, scenario is ready, mod and premade pretenders are not. Balance testing is not finished either. Havn't had much time lately. The summer is approaching and there is much to do to at school.
Thanks for the reminder. I believe I needed it
