Whatever that thing was the Shivans got one less of them now - S.O.C. Freespace 2

We're the borg, lower your shields and surrender your ships, we will add your technological and biological distintiveness to our own your race will adapt to serve us, resistant is futile.

I found a demo of SE2 (yes, two ) on a "junk shareware compilation" CD my dad bought... looks like he helped me find a diamond in the rough!

				 Re: First Time
My bro introduced SE1 back when I was like 7 or 8. Then I found out there was an SEIV awhile back when I rediscovered my SE1 copy on an old computer and went searching the internet for something and found SE.net then found here and PBW.

 | That would be my story as well. Found SE3 on a demo CD with the magazine Computer Games Strategy Plus. |

I came across SE:III on the internet, played it for a bit. Later on I came across SE:IV. 4 years later, still on SE:IV. |

				 Re: First Time
Friend of mine gave me a copy of the original Master of Orion. After becoming thoroughly addicted, when I first got an internet connection, I went looking for games of a similar genre and came across SE3. Got myself totally hooked on that, which of course led to SE4 and now SE5. I only ask that Aaron not start the SE5 Beta before Jan 13th, since that'll be my 1 year anniversary with my lil lady and if I forget about that, which I surely will if a SE5 beta is involved, then I'll probably end up losing an appendage. Possibly my most important appendage. That would be my right hand, which is quite vital for the opperation of my mouse. Minds out of the gutter people!

 | SE1 straight to SE4? Wow, that must have been quite a shock... SE1 didn't even have warp points or designable starships!
Anyone still have a copy of SE1 around? Malfador released it for a short time free of charge, but now it's only bundled with SE3...

				 Re: First Time
I got hooked on Dominions 1, then Dominions 2, followed it to the forums here. Then I looked at some of the other games offered here. The new M.U.L.E. (Space HoRSE), Intergalactic Trader, Dungeon Odyssey, War Engine, Star Fury, and Space Empires IV
They are all hard to explain to people who expect a game to be like the ones they buy off the shelves. Lots of glitz and glamour and deleted in a month. But they all Laster more than a month.

				 Re: First Time
When it appeared that STARS! supernova had no chance of ever coming out I went through a mail-order catalogue looking for a replacement to fill my 4E fix. Found SE4:Gold, it was expensive (we all know SE4 isn't mainstream so they had unboxed copies imported) but the description sounded good. Got it, played it for awhile, stopped playing for a few weeks, then took step to PBW. |
